Become a Friend of Diver Library

The Diver Library wouldn't exist without volunteers! Our dedicated group of volunteers breath energy and enthusiasm into the Diver Library. Essentially, the Friends of Diver are a group of active volunteers who are independently organized to support, promote, improve and expand our library services.

Friends are recognized as one of the most important citizen groups in the library world. Time and time again Friends have brought benefits to Diver Library by representing community needs and interests.

What do Friends do?

  • Raise public awareness of library services by presenting or sponsoring cultural and educational programs such as Summer Reading Program, story times, author appearances, community events and seminars
  • Decorate the library at Christmas
  • Conduct book sales and other fund raising activities to provide money for projects or items not covered by the library's operating budget
  • Communicate the library's financial needs to the governing body or the voters
  • Advocate for increased library services and funding
